Safety, environment, community, and governance.
Walex Biz Group operates in sectors — energy, mining, agriculture, construction, logistics — where the impact on people and the environment is real and immediate. We do not treat sustainability as a reporting exercise. We treat it as a condition of operating.
Every site, vehicle, and facility in the Group runs under a documented safety management system with trained personnel, personal protective equipment, incident reporting, and independent audit. Our target in every business is zero harm. We report our safety performance to our Board quarterly and act on what the data tells us.
Our energy business operates spill prevention, vapour recovery, and waste management as standard. Our mining business restores sites when production ends. Our agriculture business practises soil conservation and water management. Our commodities business sources charcoal only from producers who practise sustainable harvesting. We are building a Group that Nigeria can be proud of — and that means leaving places better than we found them.
We engage host communities before, during, and after operations — on employment, on local procurement, on infrastructure, and on grievances. Our outgrower programs put inputs, training, and guaranteed markets in the hands of thousands of smallholder farmers. Our construction and logistics businesses hire and train locally. We measure our community impact and we report on it.
Walex Biz Group is governed by a Board of Directors and run by an Executive Management team with clear lines of accountability. Each subsidiary reports to the Group on financial, operational, safety, and compliance performance. We maintain a code of conduct that applies to every employee, contractor, and partner, and we act on breaches.
We are developing formal targets for emissions, water, waste, and community investment across the Group, and we will publish our first sustainability report in 2027.
We look for people who hold themselves to a high standard — because the work we do, in the sectors we operate in, demands nothing less.
